SWAC Director of Digital Media


Southwestern Athletic Conference 
The Southwestern Athletic Conference is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Director of Digital Media to assist the conference office with the daily management, technical oversight, and content development associated with the SWAC TV sports platform and conference broadcast initiatives. This position will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality live event productions, digital content execution, and operational support for conference championships and regular season broadcasts.
 
Position Summary
The Director of Digital Media will support the execution and oversight of live and on-demand programming across the SWAC TV sports app and affiliated broadcast platforms. Responsibilities include technical support, broadcast quality assurance, graphics and commercial integration, event programming coordination, and digital content development. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical production knowledge, creative content skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced collegiate athletics environment.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
Broadcast Operations & Technical Oversight
  • Assist with the day-to-day operation and oversight of the SWAC TV sports app and digital broadcast platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate live game and event broadcasts to ensure conference production standards are consistently met.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to member institutions and broadcast crews during live events.
  • Coordinate with production vendors, schools, and technical personnel to ensure successful event execution.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews for live and archived broadcasts, including audio, video, graphics, replay functionality, and stream reliability.
  • Assist with setup, testing, and implementation of streaming workflows and broadcast technologies.
 Content Development & Creative Services
  • Design and develop digital broadcast content, including promotional assets, graphics packages, lower thirds, intros, transitions, and event branding elements.
  • Assist with creation and scheduling of programming content for SWAC TV.
  • Collaborate with conference staff to develop creative storytelling and promotional content for championships, special events, and regular season competition.
  • Support video editing and post-production efforts for highlights, recaps, features, and social media content.
 Graphics & Commercial Integration
  • Manage and support graphics implementation during broadcasts and conference events.
  • Coordinate commercial inventory placement and sponsor integration within live broadcasts and digital programming.
  • Ensure sponsor assets, conference branding, and advertising elements are properly displayed and executed according to conference standards.
  • Assist with scoreboard graphics, statistical overlays, and broadcast visual elements.
 Event & Programming Support
  • Assist with broadcast planning and execution for conference championships, media events, and special programming initiatives.
  • Coordinate event programming schedules and content delivery timelines.
  • Support remote and on-site event production operations as assigned.
  • Travel to conference events and championships when necessary.
 Administrative & Operational Support
  • Maintain broadcast documentation, production standards, and technical procedures.
  • Generate reports and evaluations regarding broadcast quality and operational performance.
  • Stay current with emerging broadcast technologies, streaming trends, and digital production best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the conference office.
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Production, Communications, Sports Media, Digital Media, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in live sports production, broadcast operations, streaming, or digital media.
  • Working knowledge of live streaming platforms, broadcast equipment, graphics systems, and production workflows.
  • Experience with video editing software and graphic design platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Familiarity with live production systems including replay, graphics integration, audio systems, and streaming encoders preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel during athletic seasons and championship events.
  • Knowledge of collegiate athletics and sports broadcasting preferred.
 Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with OTT/sports streaming platforms.
  • Knowledge of HTML-based graphics systems and digital content management.
  • Understanding of sponsorship integration and broadcast commercial workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple live events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong creative design and visual storytelling skills.
Work Environment
This position operates in both office and live event environments and may require evening, weekend, and holiday work based on conference competition schedules and championship events.
