BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With preseason training beginning to ramp up on the pitch for each member institution, the Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced the 2026 Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll with the predicted order of finish voted by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Leading the charge as the 2026 Preseason Favorites, Jackson State was selected to finish first, followed by defending the 2026 SWAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Champions, Grambling State being selected to finish second. Alabama A&M follows being voted to finish third followed by Alcorn State being voted to finish fourth. Rounding out the top five, Texas Southern was placed fifth with one first place vote.

Prairie View A&M was tabbed with a sixth-place vote followed by Southern being placed at seventh. Alabama State was voted at eighth place followed by Arkansas-Pine Bluff rounding out the votes with a ninth-place finish.

Jackson State led the league with six first-place votes followed by Alabama A&M having the second most with three.
As preseason training ends and the season commences, the journey for the 2026 SWAC Women’s Soccer Championship will begin for the nine respective institutions competing throughout the year.
