BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Prairie View A&M’s Joey Madimba, Bethune-Cookman’s Jakobi Heady and Texas Southern’s Zytarious Mortle for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards.
Player/Newcomer
Madimba was the leading scorer for Prairie View A&M during this past week of competition. He averaged a team high 23.0 points per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.
Co-Impact
Heady contributed 18.5 points per game this past week on 10-18 shooting including a perfect 15-15 at the free throw line to go along with 12 rebounds, four assists, a block, and four steals.

Mortle was the leading scorer for Texas Southern during this past week as he averaged a team high 18.5.0 points per game.
Player/Newcomer
Murray turned in an efficient and impactful week for Grambling State as she averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting an impressive 65.0 percent (13-of-20) from the field.
Impact
Cotton was a key contributor for Jackson State this past week averaging 15.5 points per game. She also was credited with 7.0 rebounds per game while also assisting on the defensively.
