BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Florida A&M’s Keeleigh Spooner and Samantha Smith, Prairie View A&M’s Mia Nunez and Kayla Adams along with Southern’s Laila Clark for SWAC Softball Weekly Awards.
Co-Hitter
Spooner put together one of the most complete offensive weekends of the season, going 6-for-10 at the plate with a home run, two doubles and nine RBI over the three contests.
Co-Hitter
Nunez finished the Lady Panthers three-game conference stretch hitting .500 (3-for-6) while scoring five runs and driving in five RBIs. She recorded two home runs, a triple, and added a stolen base, accounting for multiple extra-base hits.
Co-Pitcher
Smith was dominant on the mound during her two starts this past week. She tossed eight scoreless innings across games two and three while surrendering just two hits and striking out nine batters.
Co-Pitcher
Adams posted a 2-0 record over the weekend, tossing a combined 10.0 innings while allowing just six hits and zero runs for a perfect 0.00 ERA.
Newcomer
Clark hit .556 with six RBI while also scoring four runs during three Southern wins over Grambling State.
