SWAC Men's Basketball Weekly Awards: Feb. 3

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Daeshun Ruffin, Prairie View A&M’s Tai'Reon Joseph and Alabama A&M’s Koron Davis for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards. 
 
Player

Ruffin was a key contributor for Jackson State during this past week of competition. He averaged a league leading 36.5 points per game to go along with 6.5 assists per game.
 
Impact

Joseph poured in a game-high 31 points while shooting 11-of-23 from the field and knocking down five three-pointers as PVAMU defeated Texas Southern. He played all 40 minutes during the contest and was a key contributor on both ends of the floor.

Newcomer 
Davis helped Alabama A&M go 1-1 over the week as he averaged 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists. He posted 22 points in games against Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman, while also shooting 44.4 percent (4-of-9) from behind the 3-point line.
