SWAC Men's Basketball Weekly Awards: Jan. 13

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Daeshun Ruffin, Florida A&M’s Micah Octave and Prairie View A&M’s Cory Wells for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards. 
 
Player

Ruffin averaged 37.5 points and 7.5 assists per game in the two road games this past week. He also finished the week averaging 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 44.9 (22-of-49) percent from the floor with a pair of three-pointers.
 
Impact
Octave averaged 16.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while logging nearly 35 minutes per contest this past week. He shot an impressive 55.6 percent from the floor and 53.6 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Newcomer 
Wells averaged 17.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game over two contests, while playing 38.0 minutes per game. He shot 37.2 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from three-point range, and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line.
