BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s JaCobian Morgan, Texas Southern’s Michael Akins and Chaunzavia Lewis, Bethune-Cookman’s Antwone Watts and Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Christian Peters for SWAC Football Weekly Awards. 
 
Offensive 
Morgan completed 21-of-31 passes (68 percent) for 337 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions as the Tigers defeated Southern 38-13, with his touchdown passes at 51 yards and 82 yards.
Co-Defensive
Akins his best outing of the season with eight tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, forced fumble, pass breakup and a QB hurry. He had a big fourth quarter as his forced fumble stopped a potential MVSU scoring drive while also recording two tackles for losses and a pass breakup on the final drive.
Co-Defensive
Watts led the way for the B-CU defense as he racked up a game-high and career-high 13 tackles - 8 solo, five assists - as well as a forced fumble that was recovered by the Wildcats. He also added a pass breakup. 
Specialist 
Lewis averaged 41 yards per kickoff return (four kickoff returns for 164 yards) including a pair of 52-yard returns as the first helped set up TSU’s first score of the game.
 
Newcomer 
Peters finished the night with 323 passing yards and one touchdown against Alcorn State. He also showcased his versatility by adding 30 rushing yards and capping his effort with a critical rushing touchdown.
