SWAC Golf Championships: Day One Recap

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Alabama State Lady Hornets finished day one of the 2025 SWAC Women’s Golf Championships in first place.

ASU currently leads second place Southern by 14 strokes after round one of competition. Bethune-Cookman and Texas Southern sit in third and fourth place respectively.

Florida A&M currently leads the men’s field after day one of competition.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Texas Southern are currently ranked in second and third place respectively.

Individually on the women’s side Alabama State's Yaiza Fernandez sits atop the leaderboard with an opening round score of 77 (+5). Alabama State’s Lucia Ibanez Parada is currently in second place individually with an opening round score of 79 (+7).

On the men’s side Florida A&M’s Miguel llas and Texas Southern’s Tristan Garrett posted opening round scores of 70 (-2) to conclude day one as co-leaders.

Round two of competition will begin tomorrow at 7:30 am CST. Live scoring for the event will be available at the links above.
