BATON ROUGE, La.- The Southern Jaguars claimed the 2025 SWAC Men’s Basketball regular season title outright on Saturday with a 71-57 home win over Alabama A&M.
AAMU shot just 41.2 percent from the field overall while being forced into committing 15 turnovers which subsequently led to 18 points for Southern.
Jordan Johnson paced the Jaguars scoring attack with a game-high 14 points to go along with one rebound, one assist and one steal.
The Jaguars will enter the upcoming SWAC Men’s Basketball Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The tournament is slated for March 11-15 in Atlanta, Ga. at the Gateway Center Arena.
