BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Jackson State’s Taleah Dilworth, Grambling State’s Kahia Warmsley and Lydia Freeman along with Bethune-Cookman’s Asianae Nicholson its SWAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past week.
Player of the Week
Dilworth scored a team high 30 points during the Jackson State Lady Tigers home game versus Prairie View A&M. She followed that performance with a 13-point performance versus Texas Southern while averaging 21.5 points per game for the week.
Impact Player of the Week
Warmsley led the charge in a 55-52 GSU contest against Florida A&M, displaying her scoring ability with a game-high 22 points. She shot 8-of-16 from the field, including two three-pointers, and was flawless at the free-throw line, making all four attempts.
Co-Newcomer of the Week
Freeman delivered a double-double, scoring 21 points on an efficient 9-of-11 shooting while securing 12 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass during GSU’s game versus Bethune-Cookman. She was also perfect from the free-throw line, converting all three of her attempts.
Co-Newcomer of the Week
Nicholson registered back-to-back double-doubles for Bethune-Cookman last week in league games versus Grambling State and Southern at home. She contributed 28 points, 33 rebounds and three blocked shots across the two games, respectfully while shooting 41.7 percent from the field overall.
