SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors: Feb. 4

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama A&M’s Lauryn Pendleton and Alisha Wilson along with Bethune-Cookman’s Asianae Nicholson its SWAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past week.

Pendleton was a key contributor this past weekend as the Bulldogs improved to 7-2 after the first half of league play. Last week she averaged a team leading 17.5 points per game as AAMU claimed road wins over Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman.

Wilson was a key contributor this past weekend as the Bulldogs improved to 7-2 after the first half of league play. Last week she averaged a team leading 15.5 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds per game as AAMU claimed road wins over Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman.

Nicholson averaged a double-double this past week during Bethune-Cookman games versus Alabama A&M and Alabama State. She averaged 13.5 points to go along with 11.5 rebounds per game. Nicholson led her team in both scoring and rebounding while tying for first in the league in rebounds per game.
