SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors: Feb. 25

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Florida A&M’s Sterling Young, Jackson State’s Shannon Grant, and Bethune-Cookman’s Trey Thomas its SWAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past week.
 
Player of the Week
Young averaged a league leading 27.0 points per game this past weekend for the Rattlers during league road games at Alabama State and Alabama A&M.
 
Impact Player of the Week
Grant had a career day as he finished with a career-high 25 points on 11-of-11 shooting from the floor and 3-of-3 from the free throw line versus Alcorn State. 
 
Newcomer of the Week
Thomas takes home the award after a pair of wins at Alabama A&M and Alabama State in which he scored 35 points with three assists and two steals for Bethune-Cookman.
