BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Rhema Pegues, Leianya Massenat and Mikayla Brown for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards.
Player
Pegues shined for the Tigers scoring in double figures against Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb. She registered 16 points and seven rebounds against CCU, and another 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists against Gardner-Webb.
Impact
Massenat earned Impact Player of the Week honors after helping the Tigers to a win over Gardner-Webb. Massenat scored 17 points in the win and added six rebounds and four assists to her stat line.
Newcomer
Brown was tabbed SWAC Newcomer of the Week after two double figure scoring performances and an impressive defensive showing. She recorded 14 points and seven rebounds against Coastal Carolina and 13 points and eight rebounds against Gardner-Webb.
