SWAC Men's Basketball Weekly Awards: Dec. 23

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Prairie View A&M’s Tai'Reon Joseph, Jackson State’s Daeshun Ruffin and Grambling State’s Antonio Munoz for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards. 
 
Player
Joseph delivered a pair of impressive performances to lead the Panthers, averaging 30.0 points per game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field. He also connected on 50.0 percent of his three-point attempts and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line, showcasing his efficiency and scoring versatility.

Impact
Ruffin finished the week averaging 30.5 points per game against Hampton and Norfolk State. Against Hampton he shot 72.2 (13-of-18) percent from the floor and 40.0 (2-of-5) percent from beyond the arc, while also shooting 88.9 (8-of-9) percent from the free throw line. He followed that up with 25 points against Norfolk State, shooting 50.0 (8-of-16) percent from the floor. 
 
Newcomer 
Munoz averaged 22.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game during the classic. He shot 69.5 percent from the field (16-for-23). He scored 22 points in the 80-68 win over Norfolk State, topping that one day later with a career-high 23 points in the 81-72 victory over Hampton.
