SWAC Football Weekly Awards: Nov. 3

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Ahmad Miller, Bethune-Cookman’s Antwone Watts and Javon Ross, Alabama State’s Denzel Johnson, Grambling State’s Delano Franklin and Alcorn State’s Jaylon Tolbert for SWAC Football Weekly Awards. 
 
Offensive 

Miller finished JSU’s game against Florida A&M with 165 yards on 19 carries. He finished with a long run of 64 yards before finishing the drive off with a one-yard run at the end of the first half.
 
Co-Defensive 
Watts contributed a game-sealing 32-yard pick-six as the Wildcats finished off an undefeated home season with a 42-34 win over Mississippi Valley State. He also added two pass breakups, and a team-high 11 tackles - nine solo.
 
Co-Defensive 
Johnson tallied 11 total tackles, seven solo stops, a tackle for loss, and one interception during Alabama State's win over Prairie View A&M.
 
Co-Specialist 
Ross took the opening kickoff to the house for an 85-yard touchdown to give the Wildcats the lead from the jump during B-CU's win over Mississippi Valley State. 
 
Co-Specialist 
Franklin scored the game-winning touchdown in GSU's 13-10 win over Alabama A&M on Saturday. His TD was a 64-yard punt return in the fourth quarter that served as the catalyst for the victory. 

Newcomer 
Tolbert was efficient under center, completing 20-of-24 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown. He also made an impact on the ground, rushing eight times for 35 yards.
