SWAC Football Weekly Awards: Nov. 24

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Bethune-Cookman’s Timmy McClain, Jackson State’s Nate Rembert and Jared Lockhart along with Alabama State’s Andrew Abu-Akel and Te'Sean Smoot for SWAC Football Weekly Awards. 
 
Co-Offensive 
McClain completed 22-of-33 passes for 274 yards and four touchdowns during Bethune-Cookman's win over Florida A&M. He connected on a 41-yard touchdown pass to Josh Evans on fourth-and-nine with twenty seconds remaining to give the Wildcats the lead for good over Florida A&M. He also rushed for 30 yards. 
 
Co-Offensive
Rembert hauled in six receptions for 100 yards including a game-changing 55-yard touchdown reception near the end of the first half that pushed the Tigers lead to 24-7 following a turnover against Alcorn State. 
 
Defensive 
Lawrence had five tackles and 2.5 sacks with a forced fumble in the Tigers' win over Alabama A&M.
 
Specialist 
Abu-Akel accounted for 14 of ASU's 44 points during their win over UAPB. He made all three of his field goal attempts, connecting from 23, 38 and 44 yards and was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points.

Co-Newcomer 
Lockhart was 13-of-16 passing for 169 yards and a touchdown during JSU's win over Alcorn State. He also rushed the ball 12 times in the win.

Co-Newcomer 
Smoot accounted for 295 total yards, passing for 271 and rushing for 24, against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He completed 20-of-28 passes for 71.4 percent and four touchdowns while rushing four times for 24 yards.
