PVAMU Claims Western Division Title

Box Score

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Chase Bingmon, Lamagea McDowell, and Andre Dennis each found the end zone multiple times as Prairie View A&M powered past UAPB in a dominant 56-9 victory on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Panthers improved to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in SWAC play — officially clinching the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference Western Division Champion Title.

The title secures Prairie View A&M's spot in the upcoming SWAC Championship Game, but first the Panthers will turn their attention to their final regular-season matchup next Saturday: Senior Night against Mississippi Valley State, as they look to finish the season strong before heading into the title game.

Quarterback Cameron Peters once again led an efficient Panther offense, throwing for 269 yards and two touchdowns while completing 20 of 24 passes with no interceptions.

Bingmon fueled the ground attack with 135 rushing yards and two touchdowns on an impressive 9 yards per carry. Shadrick Byrd added 37 yards, while McDowell punched in two scores to highlight the Panthers' red-zone dominance.

Through the air, Jyzaiah Rockwell hauled in five passes for 67 yards, while Cameron Bonner recorded a 65-yard touchdown catch. Travon Jones chipped in 54 receiving yards to round out a balanced offensive performance.

Defensively, the Panthers were just as imposing. Kamren Amao led the unit with five tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss, and an interception, while Cornelius Davis
posted a team-high eight tackles. Prairie View A&M forced the game's only turnover and converted it into seven points.

The Panthers finished with 644 total yards, including 356 passing and 288 rushing, while averaging an explosive 9.6 yards per play. PVAMU was 5-for-5 in red-zone scoring — all touchdowns — and dominated time of possession.

How It Happened

Prairie View A&M built early momentum and never looked back. The Panthers opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown run at the 6:07 mark in the first quarter and continued to extend their lead throughout the afternoon. A 21-point fourth quarter sealed the victory, with PVAMU ending the game on 28 unanswered points.
