BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama A&M’s Rayishon Jackman and Kelani Talakai, Prairie View A&M’s D'Mya Hill and Southern’s Jordan Felix for Volleyball weekly awards after their outstanding performances this past week.
Co-Offensive/Newcomer Player of the Week
Jackman posted two double-doubles in kills and digs as the Bulldogs won a pair of five-set matches last week. She finished with 40 kills, 33 digs, five assists and four services against Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Hill totaled 31 kills, 4 blocks, and 33.5 total points, averaging 3.88 kills per set with a .493 hitting percentage for the week.
Defensive Player of the Week
Talakai finished with 59 digs, including a career-best 40 in the 3-2 victory over Bethune-Cookman. She averaged 5.9 digs per set.
Setter of the Week
Felix tallied a league leading 109 assists this past week as she helped pace the Lady Jaguars offensive attack.
