BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama A&M’s Czaske Deane and Daniela Marroquin along with Grambling State’s Alana Aiken, Taya Sands and Kaia Bace its Soccer Players of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.
 
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Deane accounted for a team-high seven points in games against Grambling State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. She logged 122 minutes and recorded a hat trick, along with an assist, in a 4-0 win over the Golden Lions on Sunday.
 
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Aiken scored the game tying goal against Alabama A&M to make the score 2-2. She also scored the first goal in a Grambling State 5-0 win against Alabama State and also had an assist to push the lead to 4-0.
 
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Marroquin secured the back line as she helped the Bulldogs to a draw at Grambling State, followed by a shutout victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday. She played 179 minutes in the two matches and registered a goal at GSU.
 
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Sands played all 180 minutes for Grambling State during games against Alabama A&M and Alabama State. She scored the go ahead goal against Alabama A&M and helped limit Alabama State to only five shots during thr game. 
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Bace tallied six key saves for Grambling State during this past week of competition. 
 
Newcomer of the Week
Sands played all 180 minutes for Grambling State during games against Alabama A&M and Alabama State. She scored the go ahead goal against Alabama A&M and helped limit Alabama State to only five shots during thr game.
