SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors: Jan. 21

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Florida A&M’s Sterling Young, Bethune-Cookman’s Trey Thomas and Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Doctor Bradley its SWAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past week.

Young had an impressive weekend, averaging 27 points, three assists, and 2.5 rebounds. He started the weekend, scoring a career-high 37 points in a Rattler’s win over UAPB. Young followed it up with a 17-point performance in a FAMU win against MVSU.
 
Thomas contributed career nights for the Wildcats this past week scoring 22 points on 9-12 shooting with four three pointers. He also added three rebounds and two assists. Thomas tallied a game high 31 points against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. His performances moved Thomas into the SWAC's top 10 in scoring average with 13.9 per game on the season. 
 
Bradley earned Newcomer of the Week recognition for the third consecutive week after averaging 23.5 points per game for Arkansas-Pine Bluff in conference action. He was also a significant contributor for UAPB defensively averaging three steals per outing.
