This past season the Southwestern Athletic Conference crowned champions in 18 sports. In what was a remarkable athletic year, we look back at the teams that emerged as league champions. Our next flashback features the 2023 SWAC Women's Volleyball Tournament Champions, Jackson State University.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas- The Jackson State Tigers defeated the Florida A&M Rattlers in straight sets on Sunday to claim the 2023 SWAC Volleyball Tournament title.

Inside the Numbers
- Naija Gadis had a team-high two aces in the win.
- Alexis Williams registered a double-double with 15 kills,11 digs and an ace.
- Jackson State attackers were helped by a team-high 20 assists from Karys Dove.
- Trinity Bryant tallied eight digs and two aces in the victory.
- Hope Briggs contributed 14 kills and three blocks on the night.
Set One | FAMU kicked off the SWAC Championship match with a service ace, and it catalyzed a 6-2 Rattler run. The high-action set captured four ties by the first media timeout, where the Tigers held a 15-12 advantage. Florida A&M regained its lead with the help of another 6-2 rally, but the 18-17 edge was short-lived as JSU responded with four straight points.
Set Two | There were eight ties at the start of the second set, the last at 8-all, and the Tigers embarked on a 10-3 run for separation. Florida A&M was unable to pull any closer than three points (20-17) in the latter goings.
Set Three | Jackson State held a slight 4-3 advantage and remained in front from there. A Florida A&M kill evened things at 17 but preceded a 5-0 stretch from JSU.
Jackson State's Williams was named Most Valuable Player after tallying 48 kills, 39 digs, and six blocks during the tournament. A complete listing of All-Tournament selections is listed below.
