BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Jackson State’s Jordan O’Neal and Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Rashad Williams its SWAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past week.
Player
O'Neal averaged a double-double last week, scoring 38 points and grabbing 21 rebounds to lead the Tigers to wins over Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman. He had 22 points and was 8-for-11 from the floor with 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the season in the Tigers win over the Rattlers. He followed up his performance by scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
Impact
Williams led the league in scoring last week averaging 28 points per game. He scored a game high 33 points during UAPB’s road win at Alabama State. He followed that with a 23 point performance during Arkansas-Pine Bluff's game versus Alabama A&M.
