SWAC Announces Volleyball Tournament Seedings and Quarterfinals Matchups

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced its 2024 SWAC Volleyball Tournament seedings following the conclusion of regular season play.
 
Florida A&M (16-0 SWAC) enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed after claiming the SWAC Volleyball Regular Season title.
 
Jackson State claimed the No. 2 seed (13-3 SWAC), while Prairie View A&M claimed the No. 3 seed (13-3 SWAC) followed by No. 4 seed Bethune-Cookman (12-4 SWAC).
 
Texas Southern (9-7 SWAC) enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed.
 
Alabama State claimed the No. 6 seed (8-8 SWAC), while Southern claimed the No. 7 seed (8-8 SWAC) followed by No. 8 seed Grambling State (6-10 SWAC).

In the event of a tie in conference records the league’s tiebreaker policy was used to determine final seedings.
  
The tournament will be played in a single-elimination format with action set to start at 11:00 a.m. CST on Friday, Nov. 22nd with matches slated to run through Sunday, Nov. 24th at the Hobdy Assembly Center located on the campus of Grambling State University.
 
Quarterfinals and semifinals matches will be available live on the SWAC Digital Network.

Friday, November 22
Match 1 – No. 1 Florida A&M vs. No. 8 Grambling State- 11:00 am
Match 2 – No. 4 Bethune-Cookman vs. No. 5 Texas Southern- 1:30 pm
Match 3 – No. 2 Jackson State vs. No. 7 Southern- 4:00 pm
Match 4 – No. 3 Prairie View A&M vs. No. 6 Alabama State- 6:30 pm

Saturday, November 23
Match 5 – Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 2 - 2:00 pm  
Match 6 – Winner Match 3 vs. Winner Match 4 - 4:30 pm 
 
Sunday, November 24
Match 7 – Championship- 2:30 pm
