BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Jacobian Morgan, Tru Thompson and Travis Terrell Jr. along with Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s JaVonnie Gibson for SWAC Football Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season competition.
 
Offensive
Morgan completed 11-of-16 passes for 226 yards during a 45-38 victory over Alabama A&M at the Gulf Coast Challenge. He finished with passes to seven different receivers and connected on three touchdowns.
 
Defensive
Thompson finished with four tackles on the night highlighted by 3.5 were tackles for losses during a 45-38 victory over Alabama A&M at the Gulf Coast Challenge.  His tackles for losses accounted for six yards on the night, while he also recorded a quarterback hurry.
 
Specialist
Terrell recorded 175 all-purpose yards during a 45-38 victory over Alabama A&M at the Gulf Coast Challenge. He returned a pair of kickoffs for a total of 113 yards, including a 96-yard touchdown in the opening quarter. Terrell also returned a pair of punts for 62 yards including one for 44 yards during the contest.
 
Newcomer
Gibson contributed an impressive performance for the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Saturday versus Alcorn State. He tallied six receptions for 180 yards and three touchdowns. It was the third game this season that Gibson registered over 140+ receiving yards.
