SWAC Football Weekly Honors: Sept. 4

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Prairie View A&M’s Trazon Connley, Alabama State’s Colton Adams, and Florida A&M’s Marcus Riley its SWAC Football Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past weekend. 

Offense
Connley passed for 275 yards on 20-of-33 passing with two touchdowns and 35 rushing yards in Prairie View A&M's 37-34 overtime win over Texas Southern during the 38th Labor Day Classic.

Defense
Adams notched 12 tackles, including four solo tackles and one sack in the Hornets' 14-10 Labor Day Classic win over Southern. He notched double-figure tackles for the third straight game dating back to the final two games of 2022 and the sixth time in seven games.

Specialist/Newcomer
Riley started the game for the Rattlers by returning the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. He finished with 120 return yards off two returns and a touchdown.
