NEW ORLEANS, La.- Florida A&M tennis traveled to New Orleans and defeated Prairie View A&M to secure the 2023 SWAC Regular Season Championship winning 4-0 to cap a perfect 9-0 conference record.
Florida A&M started off winning the doubles point as Veronica Rodriguez and Rebekkah Gaines won their match 6-1. Reagan Harris and Genesis Whitelock clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win.
The Rattlers immediately took a 2-0 lead as Rodriguez won her match by default. Whitelock (6-1, 6-0) and Harris (6-1, 6-1) both went on to win their matches to sweep the Panthers 4-0 and clinch the championship.
Florida A&M will be off until the 2023 SWAC Tournament April 21-23 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
