SWAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors: Feb. 7

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Texas Southern’s John Walker III and Mississippi Valley State’s Terry Collins for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.
 
Player of the Week
Walker averaged 23.5 points per game this past week of competition for Texas Southern. He shot 68 percent from the field (17-of-25) and was 12-of-16 from the free throw line during TSU’s two games this past week. Walker also averaged 4.0 rebounds per game to go along with 2.0 assists per game and 1.0 steals per game.

Impact Player of the Week
Collins was a key contributor for Mississippi Valley State this past week of competition as MVSU captured a key conference road win over Jackson State on Saturday. For the week he averaged 23.0 points per game while also contributing 6.5 rebounds per game. Collins shot 59 percent from beyond the arc while also averaging 3.0 assists per game.
