BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alcorn State’s Aaron Allen, Keenan Leachman, and Noah Kiani along with Bethune-Cookman’s Tink Boyd its SWAC Football Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past weekend.
Offense
Allen went 19-of-30 for 263 yards with three touchdown passes during Alcorn State’s 44-21 win over Southern. He paced the Braves offensively while completing 66.2% of his pass attempts.
Defense
Leachman registered three tackles along with two interceptions highlighted by a 95-yard interception return for a score during Alcorn State’s 44-21 win over Southern. He also contributed a forced fumble and returned it for a 27-yard touchdown in the first half.
Specialist
Kiani was 3-of-3 on his field goal attempts and 5-5 on extra points during Alcorn State’s 44-21 win over Southern. He kicked a 37-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter to help seal the win for Alcorn State.
Newcomer
Boyd led all Bethune-Cookman receivers as the Wildcats defeated Mississippi Valley State this past week. He caught four passes for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns, becoming only the second Wildcat this season with multiple touchdowns in a game.
