BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Texas Southern’s LaDarius Owens and Jacob Williams along with Prairie View A&M’s Efren Jasso and Bethune-Cookman’s Mar'Kai Shaw its SWAC Football Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past weekend. 

Offense
Owens rushed for 211 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns during Texas Southern’s 44-10 win over Alcorn State on Sunday. He also became TSU's all-time leading rusher and all-time single-season rusher during the contest.

Defense
Williams tallied nine tackles with a tackle for loss, half-sack and pair of pass breakups touchdowns during Texas Southern’s 44-10 win over Alcorn State on Sunday.
 
Specialist
Jasso contributed three punts for 142 total yards while averaging 47.3 yards per punt with a long of 50 yards during Prairie View A&M’s 27-21 road win over Southern. He also placed two punts inside the twenty-yard line for the Panthers.

Newcomer
Shaw finished the day with 12 carries for 109 yards, averaging 9.1 yards per carry in just his second appearance of the season against Alabama A&M. The true freshman contributed a 52-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats completed a comeback win over the Bulldogs.
