SWAC Announces Soccer Tournament Seedings and Quarterfinals Matchups

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced its 2023 SWAC Soccer Tournament seedings following the conclusion of regular season play.
 
Grambling State (8-0-1 SWAC) enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed .
 
Jackson State claimed the No. 2 seed (7-2 SWAC), while Southern claimed the No. 3 seed (5-1-3 SWAC) followed by No. 4 seed Texas Southern (5-3-1 SWAC).
 
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-5 SWAC) enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed.
 
Prairie View A&M claimed the No. 6 seed (3-5-1 SWAC), while Alcorn State claimed the No. 7 seed (3-5-1 SWAC) followed by No. 8 seed Alabama A&M (3-6 SWAC).

In the event of a tie in conference records the league’s tiebreaker policy was used to determine final seedings.
  
The tournament will be played in a single-elimination format with action set to start at 10:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, Nov. 2nd with games slated to run through Sunday, Nov. 5th at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
 
All tournament games will be available live on the SWAC Digital Network.

Thursday, November 2
Match 1 – No. 1 Grambling State vs. No. 8 Alabama A&M- 10:00 am
Match 2 – No. 4 Texas Southern vs. No. 5 Arkansas-Pine Bluff- 1:00 pm
Match 3 – No. 2 Jackson State vs. No. 7 Alcorn State- 4:00 pm
Match 4 – No. 3 Southern vs. No. 6 Prairie View A&M- 7:00 pm

Friday, November 3
Match 5 – Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 2 - 3:00 pm  
Match 6 – Winner Match 3 vs. Winner Match 4 - 6:00 pm 
 
Sunday, November 5
Match 7 – Championship- 1:00 pm
