BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alcorn State’s Aaron Allen and Malachi Bailey along with Jackson State’s Jacobian Morgan its SWAC Football Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past weekend.
Offense
Allen completed 14-of-26 pass attempts for 219 yards and two touchdowns during Alcorn State’s win over UAPB on Saturday. He also had five carries for 37 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Defense
Bailey tallied four tackles (3 solo), two tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, one pass break-up and a QB hurry during Alcorn State’s win over UAPB on Saturday.
Newcomer
Morgan threw for a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown during Jackson State’s win over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday. He tallied ten rushes for 75 yards and a touchdown. He threw for 141 yards and a touchdown and connected with nine different receivers.
