Day One Results     Tournament Bracket

ARLINGTON, Texas- Day one of the 2022 SWAC Women’s Bowling Tournament concluded on Friday with #1 Alabama State and #2 Prairie View A&M claiming the top two seeds during the qualifying rounds of the event.

Alabama State heads into day two of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament as the top seed after picking up four wins on the opening day of the tournament at the Bowling ITRC. The Hornets lead in total pins with 4,944 and an average of 197.8.

Alabama State (89-47) set a school record with the first win of the day over Florida A&M, before reeling off three more wins with their only loss coming by just nine pins to Prairie View A&M in their third match of the day.

The Hornets defeated the Rattlers 995-851 in their opening match, before running their record to 2-0 with a 984-845 victory over Texas Southern. Following their loss to Prairie View A&M, the Hornets defeated Jackson State (968-863) and Southern (1,049-899).

Prairie View A&M concluded day one with a 3-2 mark after claiming wins over Jackson State (985-836), Alabama State (957-948), and Texas Southern (958-845).

Day two will start at 9:30 am with #3 Southern facing #6 Texas Southern and #4 Florida A&M taking on #5 Jackson State.

Each day two match will be available live on BowlTV. Top seed Alabama State will face the winner of the FAMU and JSU match while #2 Prairie View A&M will take on the winner of the SU and TSU match.
