SWAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors: Nov. 29

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama A&M’s Garrett Hicks and Grambling State’s Carte'are Gordon for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of non-conference play.

Player of the Week
Hicks delivered an impressive week while averaging 16.7 points per game. He tallied six three pointers during AAMU’s non-conference outing versus Louisiana Tech. He followed that 22-point performance with a 16-point outing against Tennessee Southern. Hicks contributed 12 points highlighted by three successful three-point baskets during Alabama A&M’s 71-55 win over Fisk.

Impact Player of the Week
Gordon averaged a double-double in points and rebounds as Grambling State went 2-1 at the 210 San Antonio Shootout. He averaged 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds against UTSA, Incarnate Word and Dartmouth. He shot 48.6 percent (17-of-35) from the floor. On the glass, he tallied 30 rebounds, including 22 on the defensive glass.
