SWAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors: Jan. 5

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama A&M's Dariauna Lewis and Florida A&M’s Maleaha Bell for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during the opening week of conference play.

Player of the Week
Lewis delivered an impressive double-double performance against Arkansas-Pine Bluff to start league play. She scored 26 points while grabbing 14 rebounds to go along with three steals and a block as Alabama A&M defeated UAPB 58-48. 

Impact Player of the Week
Bell was a key contributor during Florida A&M's first win of the season. She scored the game winning basket during the closing seconds of the Rattlers game against Bethune-Cookman. Bell contributed a total of 10 points to go along with six rebounds and a steal.

Women’s competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
