BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama A&M's Dariauna Lewis and Jackson State's Ameshya Williams-Holliday for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.
Player of the Week
Lewis had back-to-back dominating double-double performances this past week. Against Texas Southern she scored 26 points while collecting 18 rebounds. Versus Prairie View A&M Lewis she contributed 27 points for the Lady Bulldogs while also tallying 10 rebounds. For the week she averaged 26.5 points per game along with 14.0 rebounds.
Impact Player of the Week
Williams-Holliday dominated under the basket with back-to-back double-double performances while shooting 62-percent from the field and averaging 21.5 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game. Against Bethune-Cookman she scored 22 points while gathering 10 rebounds. Versus Florida A&M she scored 21 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Jackson State currently sits in first play in the league standings with a 7-0 conference record.
