BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2021 SWAC Volleyball Predicted Order of Finish on Thursday with Alabama A&M tabbed as the league favorite heading into the fall 2021 season. The preseason poll was voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.
The Lady Bulldogs (1
st) tallied a league leading eight first place votes. 2019 SWAC Volleyball Tournament Champion Alabama State (2
nd) was selected second followed by Jackson State (3
rd), Prairie View A&M (4
th), Bethune-Cookman (5
th), and Florida A&M (6
th) to round out the top half of league preseason poll picks.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (7
th) was tabbed to finish in seventh place with Alcorn State (8
th), Grambling State (9
th), Southern (10
th), Texas Southern (11
th) and Mississippi Valley State (12
th) picked to finish 7-12 respectively.
The 2021 SWAC Volleyball regular season is set to begin next week with several league teams in action. The 2021 SWAC Volleyball Tournament will be held Nov. 19-21 on the campus of Alabama A&M University.
