BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama State’s McKenna Wiscombe, and Prairie View A&M’s Andrea Nugent and Quinn Josiah for SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during competition in league play.
Offensive Player of the Week
Wiscombe scored a pair of goals in a 4-0 win for Alabama State over Alcorn State on Senior Day. She scored both goals in the first half with the first coming in the 15th minute, followed by another in the 28th minute.
Defensive Player of the Week
Nugent helped deny Jackson State of several quality looks and played a significant role in JSU’s top scorer only having one shot on goal.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Josiah tallied three saves while helping her team secure a 3-2 win over Jackson State. Josiah faced a total of eight shots during the win allowing two goals while logging 90 minutes of action.
