BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Arkansas Pine Bluff’s Skyler Perry, Jackson State’s Aubrey Miller Jr. and Alabama A&M’s Troy Lendvay were all named Southwestern Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week for their outstanding play this past weekend the league has announced.
 
Offensive- Perry (New Orleans, La.) accounted for 281 yards and all four touchdowns in UAPB’s win at Southern. He completed 22-of-37 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions and rushed eight times for 58 yards and career-high two touchdowns in the Golden Lions' first-win over Southern since 2012.
 
Defensive/Newcomer- Miller (Memphis, Tenn.) registered 18 tackles (10 solo), a tackle for loss, and a forced fumble in the Tigers' 33-28 victory over Grambling State. He forced the fumble as GSU was driving and had the ball 2^nd and goal from the JSU 1. The forced fumble and JSU recovery preserved the Tigers' victory.
 
Specialist- Lendvay (Montreal, Quebec Canada) made an impact in his first game at the collegiate level as he helped Alabama A&M play the field position game and prevent South Carolina State from getting any momentum in what would be a 31-7 Bulldog victory. On the day he punted five times for a total of 203 yards, racking up an average of 40.6 yards per punt. He would land one touchback and belt a pair of punts 50 yards or better, including a long of 59 yards.
