Jackson State's Rogan and Williams Headline SWAC Women's Basketball Preseason Selections

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2021-22 Preseason All-SWAC Women's Basketball teams and individual award winners on Thursday morning. The all-conference honors were voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors.  

Jackson State’s Dayzsha Rogan was named Preseason Player of the Year, while fellow teammate Ameysha Williams claimed Preseason Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Rogan ranked second in the league in scoring with 17.6 points per contest. She also finished sixth in the conference in field goal percentage (.426), first in free throw percentage (.808), second in three-point field goals per game (2.5), and seventh in steals per game (2.0).

Williams ranked sixth in the league in scoring (15.7), second in rebounding (12.0), second in field goal percentage (.567), and first in blocked shots per game (3.2). Her defensive presence assisted the Lady Tigers to holding opponents to a league low 58.8 points per game.
