Texas Southern's Weathers Named SWAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Texas Southern’s Michael Weathers its SWAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his outstanding performance this past week.

Weathers (Roeland Park, Kansas) led TSU in scoring with a 23-point effort on 8-of-12 shooting in 33 minutes played at Saint Mary's last week. The senior guard also led TSU in steals (4), blocks (2) and assists (3).
 
This marks the second consecutive week in which Weathers has garnered SWAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week recognition.
 
Other Notable Performances:
  • Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Shaun Doss Jr. averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in two games last week.
  • Mississippi Valley State’s Devin Gordon contributed 21 points (career high), three rebounds, three assists and one steal against Western Kentucky this past week.
