The contributions of these notable student-athletes have helped shaped the proud history and legacy of the SWAC.

Ashley Ambrose

Parnell Dickinson
- Four Year Starter at MVSU

- Named Black College All-American after his Sophomore & Junior Year at MVSU
- He threw for 1667 yards and 21 Touchdowns his Junior Year
- Played in the Canadian Football League for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Vincent Brown
- Known as “The Undertaker”
- Linebacker for the New England Patriots from 1988-1995
- Three-time All Pro (1991, 1992, 1993)
Willie Totten
- Four Year Starter at QB for MVSU (1981 to 1985)
- Set more than 50 Division I-AA Passing records in his career at MVSU
- Inducted into the MVSU Athletics Hall of Fame (2006)
- Inducted into the College Hall of Fame (2005)
- Played Professional Football in the CFL & NFL respectively
- MVSU Football Stadium renamed in 1999 to the Rice-Totten Stadium

About #CFB150 Anniversary
College Football 150
th Anniversary is a non-profit corporation formed to plan and administer a national celebration of 150 seasons of collegiate football in 2019.
The commemoration will showcase the rich history and traditions of the sport and its contribution to American society and culture, while also promoting the opportunity it continues to provide to thousands of student-athletes across all levels of the sport.
The CFB150 staff reports to a Board of Directors made up of representatives from stakeholder groups throughout college football. The corporation has office space at the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame headquarters in Irving, Texas.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is considered one of the premier HBCU conferences in the country and currently ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of HBCU alumni playing with professional sports teams.
Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field and Tennis.
Women’s competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
