LORMAN, Miss. – The inaugural FCS Punter of the Year award released a preseason Watch List on Friday, and senior Corey McCullough from Alcorn State University was included.

McCullough was one of 28 punters in the country on the list, selected by The Augusta Sports Council in Augusta, Georgia. The publication also selects the Ray Guy Award, which honors the best FBS punter as well.

McCullough, from Louisville, Mississippi, handles Alcorn's punting and kicking duties. He was named to the 2019 SWAC Preseason All-Conference First-Team as a kicker, and Second-Team as a punter.

In 2018, McCullough punted 67 times for 2,704 yards with a long of 60 yards. He blasted 11 punts for over 50 yards, and 25 punts landed inside the 20.

In the kicking game, McCullough is tied for the school's all-time record of 34 field goals made. He needs one more to break the mark set by Wilfredo Rosales in 1980. McCullough has made 17 field goals in back-to-back years which also stands as the single-season record.

The FCS Punter of the Year award will announce 10 semi-finalists in late November and three finalists in early December. The winner will be announced in early January.
