Texas Southern stays unbeaten in SWAC play, takes two from UAPB

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped a pair of games to Texas Southern on Saturday afternoon at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex. The Lady Tigers held on to win the first game 7-5 and battled back from an early deficit to win the nightcap 4-1 to remain unbeaten in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State picked up a pair of wins over Alcorn State during the weeknd to remain in striking distance of the top seed in the Eastern Division. The Lady Braves won Friday's contest 7-5 on an Amari Ramsey two-run home run in the top of the seventh, but the Lady Hornets rebounded to win both sides of a Saturday doubleheader by scores of 10-9 and 11-8.

GRAMBLING, La. – Prairie View A&M's aspirations on the top seed in the Western Division remained intact thanks to a three-game sweep of Grambling State over the weeknd. PVAMU won game one 6-3 and game two 16-5, wrapping up the series with a 14-4 victory on Sunday.
