A 15-point third quarter deficit turned into an 81-80 victory for the Alcorn State University women's basketball program over Mississippi Valley State as senior De'Asia Brown notched a career-high 27 points Saturday at the R.W. Harrison Complex.

Prairie View A&M snaps Jackson State’s five-game win streak

JACKSON, Miss. –
The Prairie View A&M University women’s basketball team snapped Jackson State’s five-game win streak with an 89-80 win during Southwestern Athletic Conference action Saturday evening. Shala Dobbins led PVAMU with 22 points, and the Panthers outscored Jackson State 34-22 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

DeShawna Harper continues to shine on the big stage. That trend continued on the home floor of Alabama A&M's biggest rival. Harper poured in a season-high 26 points as Alabama A&M surged past Alabama State 65-57 Saturday night in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game.

Jaguars ride second-half surge to win over UAPB

PINE BLUFF, Ark. –
Down 11 at the half, the Southern University women’s basketball team used a dominant third quarter to defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 56-45 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game at H.O. Clemmons Arena. The Jaguars (12-11, 9-3) outscored UAPB 24-7 to erase their halftime deficit, pulling away in the fourth quarter. Taneara Moore led Southern with 13 points. Noe’ll Taylor scored 11 points to lead the Lady Lions.
