Legendary former SU Coach Cador set to join 2019 SWAC Baseball Tournament Staff
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced that legendary former Southern University baseball head coach Roger Cador will join the league office in an advisory role for the upcoming 2019 SWAC Baseball Tournament.
In his role as a staff liaison for the upcoming baseball tournament Cador will assist with marketing, promotions, and game management/event operations.
“I’m extremely excited to partner with the Southwestern Athletic Conference and Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland in advancing and promoting this year’s tournament,” said Cador.
“Across my career in athletics and administration I’ve sought to raise awareness of the unique opportunities we have as collegiate administrators at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. My philosophy has always centered around the belief that it is our duty to seek ways to engage the local community while giving back and serving as role models for our youth.”
“The SWAC undoubtably has rich traditions and legacies and I look forward to assisting the conference office in building upon those legacies while advancing the leagues’ annual baseball tournament from a level of community engagement and overall general exposure,” said Cador.
“Coach Cador’s knowledge and expertise in the fields of event fundraising, marketing and promotions as well as game management will greatly bolster our collective efforts as we look to take the SWAC Baseball Tournament to the next level,” said SWAC Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland.
The 2019 SWAC Baseball Tournament is scheduled to take place May 15-19 at Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans, La.
