PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - Shakyla Hill drove the lane with 10 seconds left and banked in a jumper off the glass as the Grambling State University women’s basketball team completed the Texas road swing with a thrilling, 64-63, win over Prairie View A&M in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game on Monday afternoon at the Nicks Recreation Center.

Late surge pushes Southern past Mississippi Valley
BATON ROUGE, La.- Brittany Rose scored 21 points as the Southern University women’s basketball team (8-9, 5-1) pulled away from Mississippi Valley State to prevail 74-67 in Southwestern Athletic Conference action Monday evening at F.G. Clark Activity Center. Down two entering the fourth, Southern traded points with the Devilettes for much of the quarter, but after LaKendra Bassett tied it at 65 with a pair of free throws, Taneara Moore went 7-of-7 from the line as the Jaguars outscored MVSU 9-2 over the final 1:09. Sydnie Ward led MVSU with 18 points, and Desiray Mosley went for 12 points and 10 rebounds.

LORMAN, Miss.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team out-scored Alcorn St. Lady Braves (3-15, 2-4 SWAC) (51-45) after the first quarter and shut down the Lady Braves in the fourth quarter in a (59-57) thrilling, come-from-behind victory on the road Monday night. The win was the first for interim head coach Danny Evans.
