Southern cruises over Delta Devils
BATON ROUGE, La.- The Southern University men’s basketball team defeated Mississippi Valley State 80-56 Monday evening in F.G. Clark Activity Center in coach Sean Woods’ first game against his former team. Southern controlled matters from the start, building a 47-28 lead at the half and leading by at least 17 the rest of the way. Hassan Hussein led the Jaguars with 18 points, and Jayden Saddler added 14 points, seven assists and five boards. Jordan Evans scored 17 for MVSU.
