Alabama A&M moves win streak to three, downs Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
While walking off the floor, Margaret Richards shook her head in approval.

The assessment? Richards and her Alabama A&M women's basketball team had just completed a successful business trip with a pair of wins.

And the Bulldogs did it in entertaining fashion. Carnethia Brown poured in 16 points as Alabama A&M rallied past Jacksonville 65-60 Friday afternoon in the North Florida Holiday Classic.

For the entire first quarter, and early in the second, Alabama A&M struggled from the field, only making one of its first 16 attempts. During that span, Jacksonville gradually built a 10-point cushion.

But, once again, Alabama A&M proved that it does not cave under pressure. By consistently pushing the ball to Ashlyn Dotson and Elexis Evans in the paint, Alabama A&M gradually chipped away at the lead, pulling within three by halftime.

Alabama A&M outscored Jacksonville 17-11 in the third quarter to take the lead, and the Bulldogs stretched the cushion to eight points by late in the fourth quarter. Elexis Evans finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Nigeria Jones scored 12 points with six rebounds. Dotson added eight points.
