Taylor, Harris lead UAPB past Paul Quinn
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –
Noe’ll Taylor scored 14 points, and Shawntayla Harris notched a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff to a 68-52 win over Paul Quinn College Sunday afternoon..

Mikeba Jones added 11 points for UAPB, who saw 10 players score in double-figures.

After using an 11-5 run to close the half with a 28-22 lead, UAPB pulled away down the stretch of the third quarter. Though Paul Quinn managed to get within a bucket of the Lady Lions, Taylor warmed up to keep UAPB in front. The Lady Lions led by double-digits throughout the fourth quarter.

Te’Ana Washington led Paul Quinn with 27 points, going 12-of-17 from the line. UAPB shot nearly 50 percent (26-of-53) from the floor.
 
 
TSU downed at Michigan State
EAST LANSING, Mich. –
Marquia Turner and Niya Mitchell each scored 12 points for Texas Southern, but the Lady Tigers were unable to cool off Michigan State during a 91-45 loss Sunday afternoon.

Turner was 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dealt four assists. Mitchell recorded a double-double, adding 11 boards, two blocks and two steals.

Led by Jenna Allen’s 19 points and 10 rebounds, Michigan State saw four players score in double figures.
 
Turner knocked down three treys in the first three minutes of play to put TSU in front early, but Michigan State scored 13 unanswered points to take control. From there, the Lady Tigers were unable to keep up with the Spartans’ pace, as Michigan State shot 50.8 percent (33-of-65) from the floor compared to Texas Southern’s 32.1 (17-of-53) percent mark.
