WACO, TX – Jaylyn Patterson scored a team-high 23 points on 5-of-11 shooting from 3-point range and added six assists, Trayvon Reed registered a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks as the Tigers stunned the host Bears at the Ferrell Center.
Devocio Butler (13 points, six rebounds ) and Jeremy Combs (11 points, eight rebounds) also reached double figures in scoring as Texas Southern shot a blistering 63 percent from the floor in the second half to outpace Baylor 45-29 after the break.

- After trailing by 18 at halftime, Southern (0-1) nearly traded baskets on the road at Alabama as the Jaguars were narrowly outscored 37-35 in the second half.
